Our past experiences in this work have been happy and enjoyable. Sun day the group is to arrive in Tryon at 11:45 o’clock. There are a good number of these who have not yet been placed in homes for umner. vv 111 you not pnone mrs. Bacon, or Tom Collum, at Mis sildine’s, asking for one or more of these fine young fellows to be your guests for dinner Sunday? There will be needed a group of cars to bring the soldiers back from Harmon Field to the bus station after supper Sunday eve ning. It will be a real aid to the success of the day if the friends who have already helped make sure that this part is provided for. The bus leaves the station here at 8:10.—Chairman. Bushwhackers Champions After fighting it out Between themselves for 16 times during the summer season the Bushwhackers and Soumerco played off the finals in the softball championship series this week. The Bushwhackers won the first two out of three games. The first score was 6 and 3, and the Friday game was 11-7. Fri day’s?, game went four innings with neither team scoring. The Bushwhackers also led the league in percentage of games won dur ing the regular season. President Tom Costa of the league will award the championship trophy. Members of the league consisted . of Adams-Millis, Tryon Players, Soumerco and Bushwhackers. 64 games were played during May, June, July and August.
